I am often asked the same questions by people who want to learn to drive in Preston. I have produced a list of questions that will hopefully answer some or all of your questions. Q: What is your pass rate?

A: 80% (4 out of 5 pass 1st time).

 

Q: How old do I have to be before I can take lessons?

A: 17 (tuition can be given on private land with owners’ permission if younger).

 

Q: Can I do more than a one hour driving lesson?

A: Yes, lots of pupils find it beneficial to take 2 hour lessons. Longer sessions can also be arranged - of course short breaks from driving should be taken at least every 2 hours. (2-3 minutes to get some fresh air and stretch the legs).

 

Q: How much do your driving lessons cost?

Q: Will I share my lesson with another pupil?

A: No, I strongly feel that 1 to 1 is the only way to provide quality driving tuition.

 

Q: How many driving lessons will I need?

A: This will be determined by:

I will try to help you to progress as quickly as possible, however it is a job that needs to be done properly for your own future safety and the safety of others.

 

Q: What type of car is your tuition vehicle and does it have dual controls?

A: My current tuition car is a Ford Fiesta Style 1.25 petrol, 5 gear. It is fitted with Bestway dual controls. You can view the car here.

 

Q: Can I be picked up and dropped off in another place?

A: Certainly e.g Pick up home and drop at college or vice versa, or pick up from friends and drop at home etc. (Within Preston and surrounding areas).

 

Q: Do I need to pass my theory test before taking lessons?

A: No.

 

Q: Do you work weekends?

A: Yes, however I like to finish work at 2pm at weekend.

 

Q: Do you allow smoking in your vehicle?

A: No. The Health Act 01 July 2007 requires all cars and vans to be smoke free if they are used by members of the public. (Of course you may request a smoke and stretch your legs so you can take a break whenever you wish).
